Stage 17 – Cassano d’Adda
Where the Giro meets history, water and Lombard tradition
In 2026, the Pink Caravan shines the spotlight on Cassano d’Adda, a town crossed by the Adda River and a historic crossroads between Milan, Bergamo and Cremona. A territory that blends nature, ingenuity and heritage, ready to welcome the Giro d’Italia with the warmth and energy of a vibrant and engaged community.
At the heart of the town’s identity lies its deep connection with water: the banks of the Adda, the historic hydroelectric power plants and the majestic Castello Visconteo, overlooking the town centre, tell centuries of history and development. Nearby, the echo of the genius of Leonardo da Vinci lives on along the river, through his studies in hydraulic engineering and landscapes that still preserve a Renaissance charm.
The arrival of the Giro becomes an opportunity to celebrate local culture and traditions:
- public events and entertainment for all ages
- guided tours through the historic centre and natural areas
- initiatives dedicated to schools, sports associations and families
- Lombardy’s food and wine excellence
Cassano d’Adda is not just the starting point of a stage, but a symbol of a dynamic territory where sport, sustainability and identity come together. Stage 17 will be a collective celebration: streets dressed in pink, volunteers, associations and citizens ready to transform the town into a great open-air stage.
The Giro passes through here.
Cassano d’Adda lives it, celebrates it and makes it unforgettable.
