On Saturday, May 2, the second edition of the exhibition “Il Giro di Motta – his victories and the bicycles that made history” was inaugurated in Cassano d’Adda, in the presence of Mayor Fabio Colombo and many enthusiasts.
The initiative is part of the calendar of events leading up to the start of the Giro d’Italia stage and will accompany residents and visitors until May 27.
Set up at the exhibition space in Via Veneto 30 (former Area 51), the exhibition offers a fascinating journey through the history of Italian cycling, celebrating the career of Cassano’s champion Gianni Motta, winner of the 1966 Giro d’Italia. The display features trophies and memorabilia that tell the story of his sporting achievements, offering a meaningful glimpse into an unforgettable era.
Alongside the champion’s memorabilia, visitors can admire a selection of vintage racing bicycles, dating from the late 1950s to the 1980s, showcasing the technical and stylistic evolution of cycling.
The exhibition is curated by Old Bikes Only and is part of the “Cassano d’Adda city of stage” program, a series of initiatives accompanying the city toward the start of the 17th stage of the Giro d’Italia on May 27.
The exhibition will be open to the public until May 27 at the following times:
- Saturday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Sunday: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
- Saturday, May 23: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- Wednesday, May 27: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
