A historic day, a city dressed in pink, and an emotion that will remain in everyone’s memory.
The start of the 17th stage of the Giro d’Italia from Cassano to Andalo was an extraordinary success, made even more special by a beautiful sunny day and warm atmosphere that further warmed the hearts of the many fans, enthusiasts, and curious visitors who enthusiastically filled the city streets and squares.
As Mayor, I would like to express my sincerest and heartfelt thanks to all the people, organizations, and associations who contributed to the perfect success of this historic event for our city.
Special thanks go to the municipal administration and the various departments which, with professionalism, dedication, and a spirit of service, worked tirelessly over the past weeks. Thank you to the Local Police, the Law Enforcement Agencies, and all the security forces that ensured the event took place safely and smoothly.
A special thank you also to the ANC associations, Civil Protection volunteers, Croce dell’Adda and all healthcare assistance organizations, the many volunteers, and all the local associations that took part in and supported the numerous initiatives leading up to today’s event, helping to create such a strong sense of participation and celebration.
Thank you to the schools, teachers, students, and families who enthusiastically experienced this important occasion, as well as to the citizens who, over these days, faced some inevitable organizational inconveniences but responded in an extraordinary way with cooperation, enthusiasm, and a strong sense of community.
Today, Cassano offered an exceptional spectacle to the entire world: a united, welcoming city, dressed in pink and proudly celebrating one of the most important international sporting events.
I am proud of our community, which once again demonstrated the true strength of collaboration and participation.
